Dr. Kathleen Anangwe
Dr. Kathleen Anangwe is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology, Social Work and African Women's Studies at the University of Nairobi and an adjunct scholar at the Centre for Human Rights and Peace. She specializes in social inequality, vulnerable populations and community-centred One Health interventions.
Dr. Judith Asin
Dr. Judith Asin coordinates antimicrobial stewardship programmes across church health facilities in Kenya. She has extensive experience in global health, project management, monitoring and evaluation, stakeholder engagement, resource mobilisation and regional coordination.
Prof. Sabiha Essack
Professor Essack is an internationally recognised leader in One Health and antibiotic resistance. She leads several global antimicrobial stewardship initiatives and serves on multiple international advisory and expert review committees advancing antimicrobial resistance research worldwide.
Dr. Dishon Muloi
Dr. Dishon Muloi is a Scientist in Epidemiology and Antimicrobial Resistance at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI). His research applies molecular epidemiology and genomics to understand and prevent antimicrobial resistance transmission across human, animal and environmental interfaces. He leads large-scale One Health surveillance projects across East Africa and holds a PhD in Molecular Epidemiology from the University of Edinburgh.
Dr. Teske Schoffelen
Dr. Teske Schoffelen is an Internist–Infectious Disease Specialist at Radboud University Medical Center in the Netherlands. She coordinated the ESCMID antimicrobial stewardship guidelines for Emergency Departments and leads the Drive-AMS stewardship masterclasses supporting implementation across East Africa. She also contributed to the ISAC-AbxGuide clinical decision support platform.
Dr. Evelyne Wesangula
Dr. Evelyne Wesangula serves as Senior AMR Control Specialist at the East, Central and Southern Africa Health Community (ECSA-HC). She led the development of Kenya's first National Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance and continues to provide regional leadership as Vice Chairperson of the Infection Prevention Network-Kenya and Deputy Chair of the Fleming Fund Technical Advisory Group.
Dr. Emmanuel Tanui
Dr. Emmanuel Tanui is Kenya's National AMR Focal Point at the Kenya National Public Health Institute and the Ministry of Health. He plays a key role in the National Antimicrobial Stewardship Interagency Committee, leading integration of human and animal health AMR data into Kenya's One Health AMR Surveillance System (OHAMRS) and contributing to the country's National Action Plan on AMR.
Prof. Adelaide Lusambili
Prof. Adelaide Lusambili is a renowned Pan-African climate and health scientist, Research Professor, and Founder of NextGen for Earth, a platform dedicated to mentoring emerging researchers and empowering young people to lead climate action across Africa. She heads the Environmental Health and Governance Centre at Africa International University and collaborates with the Medical College of Wisconsin through the SENIORS Consortium to study the impacts of climate change on ageing populations in sub-Saharan Africa. Her work spans climate resilience, maternal and newborn health, environmental governance, and community-based public health across East Africa.
